Beyond Kibble & Bones: Foods That Are Good For Your Dog.
From the looks of it, dogs sure enjoy their kibble and bones. But many veterinarians also suggest supplementing their dog food with healthy, fresh foods. At Come Sit Stay, we offer a complete menu, with food made fresh just for your pet by our chefs at Lynch’s Restaurant. Steaks, roasted chicken, turkey, salmon, fresh vegetables, rice – it’s a doggie-foodie’s paradise.
Want to try cooking up a few dishes on your own, too? One of the most popular recipes is Fido’s Feast: a medley of brown rice, turkey and vegetables.
- 1-1/2 cups brown rice
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 3 lbs ground turkey
- 3 cups baby spinach, chopped
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1 zucchini, shredded
- 1/2 cup peas
In a large saucepan of 3 cups water, cook rice according to package instructions, and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, about 3 to 5 minutes, making sure to crumble the turkey as it cooks.
Stir in the spinach, carrots, zucchini, peas and brown rice until the spinach has wilted and the mixture is heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes. Let it cool completely. Your dog will love it, and it’s healthy, too!
